Natural and Hybrid Grass Surfaces
Traditional grass playing surfaces are found all over the country from municipal parks to national league status venues and the vast majority of outdoor recreational sports are still played on traditional grass surfaces. The quality of these pitches can vary enormously for reasons such as neglect, location, over-use and unsuitable ground conditions.
We can address all the troubling issues common to grass playing surfaces such as waterlogging or localised drainage problems, sloping or undulating ground, compaction and problem soils, grass quality concerns and agronomy issues.
Sports pitches need regular maintenance to deliver the best results. We can offer an initial in depth pitch assessment to determine the quality status of your pitch and produce a tailored maintenance schedule to keep your surface in good shape. This can be a cost effective way of making significant improvements to a worn out or neglected playing surface.
New surfaces can be designed to suit your requirements and budget. A basic standard specification will tolerate limited use and provide a moderate performance, reasonable wear capacity and recovery time. The highest specification hybrid grass system is a 95% natural grass surface reinforced with artificial fibres. It has very similar characteristics to natural grass with increased pitch stability and can deliver considerably more playing hours than a natural grass surface alone. Hybrid grass pitches are widely used for top class international rugby and football pitches.
